Winter Bible Study— join us on Tuesdays through Lent in the Church Library from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
We will be looking at “Faces Around the Cross,” and taking a closer look at the personalities that share the stage with Jesus in the final act of his earthly drama. These include such people as Simon of Cyrene, who carried the cross of Jesus; the soldiers who gambled for his clothing; the Centurion, who made a bold confession; Joanna the wife of Herod’s Steward; Mary Magdalene, the one from whom Jesus drove seven evil spirits; John the Son of Zebedee, the youngest of the disciples; and Mary the mother of Jesus, about whom it was prophesied, “. . . a sword will pierce your own soul, too.”
The Pastor will give an introduction and supply the references. The group will work up a short “biography” of all these key players. Though the content of the study is important, just as importantly, participants will receive practice in “How to Study the Bible.”
