And God is able to bless you abundantly,
so that in all things at all times,
having all that you need,
you will abound in every good work.
2 Cor. 9:8
We are a blessed people. A Blessed People With A Blessed Future.
This is the truth of our lives. No hardship, feeling, or even any tragedy can change this truth. We exist because God desires that we exist within God’s blessing. In Genesis 1:26-31 we are told
“Then God said, ‘Let us make humankind in our image…Male and female God created them. God blessed them and said to them, be fruitful and multiply… God saw everything that was created and indeed it was very good.’”
What then is the blessed future for our congregation? How will we attend to God’s blessings in our lives and build our future upon this foundation? We will be doing this by praying, dreaming, listening, and sharing with one another. Our planning and prioritizing of our goals as a congregation will be rooted in who we are as God’s blessed people. Our guiding verse is 2 Corinthians 9:8 (above) for a year-long process that we are calling “A Faithful Future For Fries”.
Your voice is needed. Your prayers are needed. Your listening ear is needed. Our entire congregation (members and attendees) will gather on Sunday November 12th from 11 am to 3 pm to celebrate our past experiences of God, clarify our values, and dream for a faithful future. We will begin with a worship service of Holy Communion celebrating Jesus Christ as Chief Elder. Lunch and childcare will be provided. We will come away with a few key priorities to focus on in the coming year and many ideas to sort through and turn into action steps.
Please RSVP to let us know if you will be taking part, or not, in the November 12th Faithful Future For Fries planning event. You can RSVP (for your household) by calling the church office, submitting an RSVP slip during worship, sending an email to me at frieschurchjeff@gmail.com , or click here for the online “Doodle Poll” by Sunday November 5th.
I look forward to sharing in God’s blessing with you on November 12th.
With Hope,
Pastor Jeff
