This morning I want to talk to you about “transfiguration” and “transformation.” The Greek word translated “transfigured” in Matthew 17:2, and  “transformed” in Romans 12:2 is exactly the same.  However, in English there is definitely a difference, and the translators of the Revised Standard Version are right in making it.

When someone is transfigured, they become on the outside what they already are on the inside.
