First Sunday of Advent
The Advent season of preparation begins on Sunday December 1. We will worship and celebrate the coming of our Lord and Savior into this dark world and the hope that he brings to us. Our worship service will include the singing of the Hosanna anthem, led by our Children’s Choir.
Advent Meditation Group
The Spiritual Life Committee invites you to create time for reflection and stillness during the Advent season. We will be studying “Child of the Light: Walking through Advent and Christmas” by Beth Richardson. Join us Monday evenings in December at 5:30 in the church library. A nursery will be provided.
Candle Trimming
On Wednesday December 4 we will have our Candle Trimming and Potluck Dinner. The dinner will begin at 5:45 and the candle trimming will start following the meal. We need your help as we prepare for our Christmas Eve Lovefeasts!
Second Sunday of Advent
Our Morning Worship service on December 8 will focus on the peace that Christ brings into the world, a peace that is still made known through his death on the cross. We will celebrate Holy Communion as we proclaim the Lord’s death.
Winston-Salem Community Band Christmas Concert & Chicken Stew Supper
Our church will host the Christmas Concert for the W-S Community Band on Sunday December 8. The concert begins at 5:30 and a chicken stew supper will follow the concert. The sanctuary is usually full for the concert, so come early and get a good seat!
Third Sunday of Advent
On December 15, we celebrate the third Sunday of Advent. This service will give us the opportunity to reflect upon the joy that Christ’s coming brings into the world.
Fourth Sunday of Advent
Our Children’s Lovefeast will be held on December 22 at 11:00 AM. We gather for worship in the love of Christ as our youth and children lead us in worship. The Children’s Choir will sing and our youth will serve as dieners, Scripture readers and ushers. Please invite all of your family, friends, and neighbors to this special Christmas celebration.
Christmas Eve Lovefeasts and Candle Services
O Come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant… as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. We will celebrate with two Lovefeast and Candle Services on Christmas Eve. The first is at 4:00 and the second at 6:30. No one celebrates Christmas like the Moravians and especially like Fries Memorial!
